Alan Britton has recently been appointed to carry out Impact Evaluation for two new projects in the field of international development.
The 2014 Annual Meeting of the Community Development Society will focus on effective community development strategies, programs, and policies - fostered by CD practitioners, academics, elected officials, development organizations, organized citizens and motivated individuals - meant to inspire a Renaissance in communities around the world.
Be it in the areas of economic development, health, education, local facilities/services, transportation, natural resources management or more, the Dubuque conference will provide an ideal setting for CDS members and guests to explore the renaissance of our communities -- rural and urban -- toward a better understanding of what creates and sustains them as places that both retain and draw residents seeking well-being.

The 2014 BAICE conference will be held from 8 - 10 September, 2014 at the University of Bath on the theme of “Power, Politics and Priorities for Comparative and International Education.” The conference challenges participants to consider how comparisons are used as part of wider political agendas, to investigate power relationships in educational policy and practice, and to critically consider priorities for contemporary research. We are very pleased to be part of this ERASMUS intensive programme on adult and lifelong learning, part-funded by the European Commission within its Lifelong Learning Programme at Julius-Maximilians-Universität, Würzburg, Germany from February 9-22, 2014.
The UNESCO Forum on Global Citizenship Education – “Preparing learners for the challenges of the 21st Century”, was held form 2-4 December 2013 in Bangkok. As announced during the concluding session, most of the presentations (including both the plenary and the concurrent sessions) and a list of participants have been just uploaded to Dropbox.
