The Open University in Scotland is hosting an open extended seminar on the morning of 25 May 2017:
This week's news round up includes stories on health literacy, adult education for teens in juvenile justice, and reactions to proposed VET reforms.
The ASEM LLL hub is delighted to have held a forum on the theme of 21ST CENTURY SKILLS from 3-5 October 2016 at Danish School of Education, Aarhus University in Copenhagen, Denmark with some 120 delegates from Asia and Europe.
Particularly worth noting in this edition are calls for papers relating to the 3rd International Skills Conference in Miri (Malaysia), MEDKNOW 2017 in Faro (Portugal), the 2nd International Conference on Crossing Boundaries in VET in Rostock (Germany) (see Conferences) and the 24th VET & Culture conference in Tampere (see Networks) and invitations to the Transnational Winter School in Würzburg, the Python course for social scientists in Amsterdam (see Programmes) and the EmployID online course on the Changing World of Work (see Projects).
Here is the latest Cedefop newsletter:
In this second newsletter of 2016 there are only a few up-dates. For instance, some new conferences are included and a new book. Please, also find some extended deadlines and second call for papers. If you are interested in going “down under” the ELOA network is organizing a study tour for ESREA members next year - more info in announcements. RELA has some thematic call for papers out and deadline is getting closer (1 of July).
Supporting Adult Education for a Sustainable Life Course: Asian and European perspectives on Education, Work and Citizenship
This Symposium jointly hosted by CR&DALL at the University of Glasgow and the Centre for Learning and Life Chances in Knowledge Economies and Societies (LLakes), UCL Institute of Education, London on behalf of the ASEM LLL Hub has just successfully completed its first day with some 70 delegates from Asia and Europe.
This symposium will offer participants the opportunity to examine a range of important issues that have a bearing on the initial and ongoing education of vocational educators both in the UK and internationally - examining both opportunities and challenges.
In this issue, an exclusive interview with European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility Marianne Thyssen during her first visit to Cedefop.
This is my first newsletter as the new secretary of ESREA. I hope you will find it interesting. 2016 is a special year with the Triennial Conference in Maynooth, Ireland where we will celebrate that the idea of ESREA was born 25 years ago. ESREA also have a new logo. Thus, there are lots of things to commemorate as we proceed with promoting research on the education of adults in Europe and beyond:
