Summary biography: 

Dr Barbara Merrill is an Associate Professor and the Academic Co-ordinator for the 2+2 Social Studies programme. She teaches undergraduate modules, supervises dissertation students and undertakes research. She offers PhD supervision in the following areas, adult student experiences in further, higher and community education, gender, class and adult education, biographical narrative research and adult education, issues of access, retention and drop-out and learning experiences and learner identity.
