Tickets are now available for the Standing Conference on University Teaching and Research in the Education of Adults (SCUTREA) and the Universities Association for Lifelong Learning (UALL) to be held from June 6th - 9th 2022 hosted by the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Research & Development in Adult and Lifelong Learning (CR&DALL).
On 29 March 2022 CR&DALL arranged an internal seminar concerning CONFINTEA and GRALE at the University of Glasgow led by Professor Heribert Hinzen and Professor Ellen Boeren. We are now making the presentations and recording available to a wider audience since we think it provides excellent background material of wide interest on policy-making processes in adult education.
This volume provides an in-depth analysis of historical and recent developments of senior learning in Taiwan, where publications in English have been scant. It takes a broader view on lifelong learning and active ageing from a theoretical/conceptual base written by prominent international authors- this represents the ‘outside in’ perspective. The ‘inside out’ on the other hand signifies an in-depth investigation of initiatives written by authors from Taiwan who are closely involved with developments in policy and practice.
We are pleased to invite you to an event on Thursday, 31 March, the first in a series of three webinars in which the 19 projects that we funded will report on their work. In each of these webinars, our CDAF projects from Africa, Asia and Latin America will make short presentations of their work, followed by input by a respondent, and questions from those who attend.
We are a global alliance of networks, associations and organisations for adult learning and education (ALE). We recognise the fundamental importance of ALE for justice, well-being and change. While Agenda 2030 identifies lifelong learning (LLL) as critical to attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ALE which is a significant part of LLL, is largely invisible. For ALE to be seen, understood and valued, we need to advocate for greater involvement and investment by governments, donors, private sector, international organizations, and social movements.
